Finally saw the documentary The Jazz Baroness about the Rothschild heiress who left the life she knew for her platonic love of Thelonious Sphere Monk and all things jazz. We had no idea and wonder where/what jazz would be if she weren't around, or who would have taken her place. A must must see!
Ponnonica de Koenigswarter and Thelonious Monk
Acquired this lovely print by fellow photographer Ina Jang from her opening of 'world' last night at The School of Visual Arts. You can purchase a print and view the work here. Part of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to VISIONS for the blind. Great cause, great work, and perfect for the holidays!

His 105th brithday recently passed, and we have been consumed with his music as of late. Coleman Hawkins is one of the greatest tenor saxaphone players. I have listened to this particular song many many times in a row....it makes my heart smile. Enjoy!
